Design Educators* Unite! is an anthology foregrounding feminist pedagogies in design within and beyond academia. It brings together educators, students, designers, and activists from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Iraq, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom, and the United States who engage in educational activism and explore pedagogies grounded in social justice. United by the shared refusal to accept design education as it currently exists, the collected contributions share situated approaches to disability justice, queering design methodologies, trans pedagogies, and collaborations with social movements. The book asks how knowledge is produced, who is given space, and who is granted access by foregrounding design education as an inherently political practice and confronting colonial violence and institutional barriers.
